Borrowed, Boston, Lace, Mary Janes, Public Gardens

One of the major benefits of living with roommates is being able to mooch off their wardrobes. Whenever I open my closet and think “I have nothing to wear” I just move on to the next closet! Fortunately, my roommates are really good sports about it. I borrowed this dress from Michele during a particularly bad bout of nothingtowearitis.

Dress: Borrowed
Jacket: Wet Seal
Tights: TJ Maxx

Boston, DIY, Embellished Collar, Leather, Velvet Blazer

I bought this vintage velvet jacket at a thrift store and embellished the collar myself. I love mixing the texture of the jacket with the smoothness of the faux leather pants.

Argentina, Boston, Chinatown, Graphic Tee, Leather

Normally I’m not one for graphic tees but when my family in Argentina sent me this tank top I instantly loved it! Something about the neon colors and relaxed fit made it stand out to me.

I took these photos in Chinatown near South Station. I always see this mural on the bus ride home and thought it would be cool to photograph there.

Muchas gracias a Firu Diaz para la camiseta fabulosa! Me encanta!

I’ve been wanting to try out the peplum trend for a while but I hadn’t found the right piece. When I spotted this striped peplum shirt at TJ Maxx I knew I had to have it! The back is sheer with a polka dot pattern.

Boston, Boston Common, Bright colors, Christian Siriano, Leather

Lately I’ve been loving all sorts of bright and pastel blues. From the uber-trendy mint to the classic Tiffany-box blue, it’s all I want to wear! This skirt caught my eye because it’s almost like a brighter version of the Tiffany blue. I can use it for more refined outfits like this or experiment with color blocking when the weather gets warmer.

Of course I had to pair it with my latest love- my new moto jacket. I don’t know how my wardrobe survived without it.

I submitted this outfit for the Emerson College Style Contest on twitter and it won!

Skirt: H&M
Shirt: Charlotte Russe
Jacket: Wet Seal
Tights: TJ Maxx
Necklace: Forever21
Belt: Thrifted

I went home this past weekend and it was so nice to spend a few days reading and relaxing. These are some instagram snapshots from my weekend.

My little reading buddy! Coco loves to snuggle on the couch while I curl up with a good book.

I’m an Art History minor and after signing up for my first modern art class at Emerson I was ecstatic to go home and look through my books on the subject. These are my current favorites out of my collection.

Just got these new shoes in the mail! I spent half the weekend playing dress up with them.

I recently re-read The Inferno in one of my lit classes and it inspired me to check out some of  Dante’s inspirations, Virgil and Aristotle. Above is The Inferno with The Aeneid, and The Metaphysics.

The perfect place to read, a chair in the sun.

No book day is perfect without coffee! This is a mocha cappuccino that I made off an online recipe.

I hope everyone else’s weekend was just as satisfying!
