Emerging Trends Show

October 9, 2013,
by Celina[zilla_likes]

Saturday was the final day of Boston Fashion Week, and my final show. The Emerging Trends show, put on by Synergy Events, has become extremely popular since its beginning in 2008. As New England’s biggest fashion show, Emerging Trends showcases the work of up and coming designers from all over the world. It is the show to be at every season.

The show was hosted by Ali Clair, Miss Maine USA 2013. As you can see, she’s a fellow lover of the sock bun!

At the show, the models walk down an 80-foot, raised runway, the longest runway I have seen at fashion week. All of the models were incredibly graceful.

The goal of Emerging Trends, aside from helping upcoming designers, is to bring Boston Fashion Week to another level, something more like NY Fashion Week. This event definitely felt like one of the most “legitimate” fashion shows that I attended. The Boston fashion scene is gradually growing and I fully support their mission to help it on its way.

I saw a lot of leather and fetish-inspired pieces on the runway. Lots of harness, chains, and edgy materials. You guys know I’m all about that! The Haute House in particular had mastered the balance between edgy and feminine.

For such a huge event, I am amazed at how well it went. Synergy pulled this one off without a hitch. I will definitely be attending Emerging Trends again next year.

[…] As those of you who follow me on Twitter and Instagram know, I’ve just come back from a stint at New York Fashion Week. And let me tell you, I didn’t want to leave. It is every bit as glamorous as it’s made out to be. I kicked off my first night in NYC in the front row of the Emerging Trends show. You may remember my coverage of their Boston show last year. […]
