Impression Sunset

July 14, 2014,
by Celina[zilla_likes]

For a long time I’ve been searching for the perfect matching skirt-and-top set. As soon as I saw this I knew it was the one. The print reminds me of impressionist paintings with the bold colors and abstract forms. The structure is playful and fun but still sophisticated. I shot these photos at the MFA Boston in homage to my outfit’s impressionistic forebears. The white marble of the building serves as the perfect blank canvas for my sartorial art.

impressionsunset3What I love most about sets is the versatility to mix and match both pieces with other clothes. You get twice the benefit of a simple dress. But with this set I can’t imagine the top and bottom functioning separately. They work so harmoniously that I only ever want to wear them together.

impressionsunset4Another great feature of this outfit is the cute bow back detail. I love a good cutout and this is the perfect injection of sass into an already flirty ensemble.

impressionsunset5Props to those of you who identified the reference I made in the title to the foundational impressionist painting. However we shot these photos at sunset as opposed to Monet’s famous Impression Sunrise.
