Here Comes the Sun

To ring out August and make the most of our last few weeks of summer, I’m showing a Swimsuit Series here on Trends and Tolstoy. Over the next week I’ll be showing you three different styles of swimsuits and coverups, and how to take the look from the pool to the street in one easy sweep.

All these photos were taken at the incredible Verb Hotel in Fenway. This retro, rock-and-roll themed boutique hotel is the place to be this summer. Their pool area is vibrant, intimate, and perfect for making the most of your last few vacation days. For only $10 you can spend the whole day poolside. Not to mention they host occasional pool parties and have food and alcohol at their restaurant just steps away. This is my most athletic-style suit. Although I virtually never exercise (what’s a gym?) I love a good black-and-white stripe. I paired this suit with a leather baseball hat and a basic grey tee as a coverup. To take this look outside just slip on a pair of elastic leather shorts and some keds. It’s an easy, athletic inspired look that doesn’t even require taking off your suit.
