While in Paris I did my best to blend in with the culture. I was mortified at the thought of being identified as a tourist, or worse, an American tourist. I found that the best way to blend in with the true Parisians was to look effortlessly fabulous and act like you just don’t give a damn.
Perhaps my efforts were for nothing because the French barrista at Starbucks translated “Celina” into “Silly.”
