Boston Fashion Week is finally here and this year Trends and Tolstoy is right in the middle of the action. All week I’ll be posting photos from exclusive invite-only shows and parties around the city.
Last night I attended the 19th Amendment Flash Fashion Show. 19th Amendment is an emerging Boston fashion company that focuses on making a platform for new designers to show and sell their work in an affordable and profitable way. They launched yesterday by throwing flash fashion shows throughout the city at Newbury Street, the Prudential, and Faneuil Hall, ending with the launch party at the Liberty Hotel. I was invited by them to follow the show from it’s very beginning.
The day started in hair and makeup, then the designers dressed their models and made any last minute alterations.
This picture reminds me so much of one of Degas’ dancer paintings.
As a blogger, it was my job to keep the social media buzz up around 19th Amendment. I was tweeting and instagramming all the prep for the show.
Our first show was right outside the 19th Amendment offices on Newbury street.
At one point the show almost got stopped by the police for blocking traffic! Fortunately that particular crime of fashion was let slide.
Our next stop, and my favorite show, was the Prudential.
As an invited blogger I had front row seats to all the shows and a private car took Jamie and I from location to location.
The event wrapped up with the launch party at the Liberty hotel. The models came up a spotlit escalator for a final preview of the clothes.
I had an amazing time at the show! Thank you so much to 19th Amendment for having me. I can’t wait to see what they come up with next.

CM, Good for you! How fun to be in the midst of it all and in the front row. Love the “Degas” shot. I agree, it reminds me of one of his dancers.
