As a full time blogger, I like to set goals for myself as motivation to produce my best possible work. It’s so important to make goals and then reward yourself when you achieve them. Having something extra special and out of the ordinary to look forward to is a great incentive to produce good work.
For the past year, I have been working on turning Trends and Tolstoy from a hobby into a business. When I graduate from Emerson I want to continue full time with the job that I love so much. I set a goal that when I began making enough to sustain me post-graduation, I would go to Tiffany’s and buy myself a business card case.
This was a monumental experience for me. To be able to go into Tiffany’s and purchase something with the money I made from Trends and Tolstoy really validated me as a blogger and a business owner. Now every time I open that sterling silver case and hand someone my card, I can do so knowing that I have taken my dream job and made it a reality.
