I love the idea of a stylish playsuit, of taking a garment historically worn by children and making it fabulous. This is a two piece suit I picked up in New Orleans. The sophisticated black and gold coloring offsets the whimsical floral pattern to create a more mature look. I styled it with a voluminous ponytail, flats, and a subtle pink lip.
I’m not very comfortable with ponytails, having had some bad experience in my youth (hello, middle school). But the idea of a voluminous ponytail always felt very sassy to me. What do you think, hit or miss?
Wanna know a secret? The bow is in the middle of the shorts not for decoration but to keep them up. The shorts were too big but I had to have them so I pinned them into a smaller size. You can see I’ve done that with skirts here, here, and here.
