Over the weekend I had the opportunity to preview the new Van Ness luxury apartment buildings that went up in Fenway. They were stunning. I have a weakness for contemporary design and this building was a slice of perfection. For one thing, it’s connected to the new City Target (bye, bye bank account, hello throw pillows), it’s also right across from Pavement Coffeehouse and just a 10 minute stroll to the Museum of Fine Arts. The model rooms and the common spaces were decorated by West Elm and Target in a very modern, minimalist style.
In addition to a gym and a 24-hour concierge, Van Ness offers a huge common room with kitchen, poker room, meeting room, and a lounge area to watch the big game or hang with friends. It’s an ideal way to relax with friends after a long day and mingle with your building mates. 
This roof deck was one of the big sells for me. It begs out for some tanning with a sunhat and a good book. The patio wraps around the building offering spectacular views of the city and Fenway park. It also includes several grills for easy cookouts. All your tools for a summer party are right there on the roof. If the roof is occupied there’s an additional, extensive, outdoor patio complete with garden on the fourth floor. 
Any roof I can see the MFA from is automatically the best. Hey, Van Gogh! 
The apartments themselves were clean, bright, spacious, and outfitted to the nines. Can you say floor to ceiling windows? With crisp white walls and top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances it was begging for an Instagram. 
The studio, though small, was divided into a separate bedroom and living room space making it feel like a one bedroom without the price tag. The one bedroom included a kitchen island for extra dining and counter space and a sizeable closet. For those interested, studios start at $2,700, one bedrooms start at $3,500. More information here.
Needless to say, I’m obsessed with these apartments. Give me a glass wall and a roof deck any day.
