My trip to Rhode Island for the ultra-chic StyleWeek presentation was too much fun to fit in one post! You can see my recap of Day 1 here. On Saturday I slept in and read the paper (As you guys know I’m partial to The New York Times). I typically do this on the weekend at home also, but there’s something extra luxurious about snuggling up in hotel sheets and having a slow morning. After reading the headlines I attended a blogger brunch hosted by the StyleWeek team. Over mimosas and mini quiches we had the chance to browse through the designers’ collections up close and chat with them about their inspiration.
That afternoon we were pampered with complimentary spa treatments at the Biltmore Spa. I’ve never gotten a massage before so it was a fun first. My uptight WASP roots really shined through when the masseuse told me I was incredibly tense and should consider weekly treatments. Whoops! I did a few photo shoots and had lunch at an incredible little bakery called Ellie’s. Not only did they have macarons but I ate the most delicious pork belly sandwich. I highly recommend it to future Providence visitors.
Saturday night StyleWeek spoiled us with a multi course meal at Garde de la Mer. I had a beet and arugula salad followed by duck and topped off with a chocolate cake and espresso ice cream. Needless to say, I’m still dreaming about it. After dinner we had another round of shows. I loved the dark edge of the collection below. The nihilistic Russophile in me delighted over what I saw as a trendy, wearable incarnation of death. I mean that in the best way possible.
The following morning we had a last brunch at Circe (hello, braised pork benedict!). The StyleWeek team was incredibly generous, showering us with goodbye goodies from sponsor Imperial Pearl and handbag designer Kent Stetson. It was tough to go back to reality, let me tell you!
A huge thank you to everyone at StyleWeek and Imperial Pearl for the amazing weekend. I couldn’t be prouder to represent such a professional, artistic, and well-executed event. Now it’s just a waiting game for the next season!
Photos are mine.
Please note: StyleWeek provided me with a complimentary trip to RI for the event, however, all opinions expressed are my own.
