For the second look of the Studio Series I wanted to do something that was more about shape than color or pattern. Shooting on site makes for a lot of distracting elements that can sometimes take away from the beauty of a clean line. We shot this look in black and white to further emphasize the retro silhouette.
My first look for the series was about creating a dreamy, fairy-tale like feeling. We did that using props, a mysterious backdrop, and elaborate styling. This is the minimalistic answer to that shoot. I paired a vintage top with an A-line skirt I picked up in Paris and polished it off with ballet-inspired flats. The vintage-y vibe of this outfit brings all kinds of old songs into my head. While we were shooting this we listened to a jazz playlist of Ella Fitzgerald, Lena Horne, and Baby Washington.
