This year I’m launching my “Look Like a Local” campaign (#looklikealocal). For each of my trips I’ll partner with a different, accessible brand, and style their clothes to match the local trends. Last week I was in Curacao, an island off the coast of Venezuela. I partnered with new, female-run online boutique Ivy Staple to blend in.
Not only does Ivy Staple have adorable clothes, a percentage of every sale goes towards a scholarship for students pursuing secondary education. Here I styled the “Jeanine” dress (available here) with a straw hat from Panama and flats for all-day touring. The light, breathable material was perfect for hot Caribbean days, and the bright blue was made for an island bursting with color.
If for some reason that wasn’t enough to sell you, the dress has pockets. Real, durable pockets that I carried my phone in all day. The belt is also detacheable so you can wear it tied in the front, the back, to the side, or not at all.
Dress: c/o Ivy Staple (available here), Flats: Nine West c/o Macy’s, Hat: gifted from Panama
Please note: this post was sponsored by Ivy Staple, however, all opinions expressed are my own. Thank you for supporting the businesses that support Trends and Tolstoy!
