Fall Necessities

October 28, 2019,
by Celina[zilla_likes]

As the weather starts to change, so does my wardrobe. And this year there were a few key pieces I wanted to enhance my fall looks. I partnered with Femme Luxe to show how just a few items can completely upgrade a cooler weather lookbook.

Cropped Sweater:
I love pairing cozy sweaters with midi skirts, but tucked in it can make bulk around the stomach. A cropped sweater means I get the comfort and warmth of a sweater but also the clean lines of a top and skirt ensemble. Sometimes you can get two for the price of one with one of Femme Luxe’s adorable Co Ords sets. I love that this particular sweater, though in a neutral black color, has little ruffle details to give it personality and shape.

Camel Coat:
These days I mostly wear midi coats because they’re long enough to work with skirts of all lengths as well as pants. It drives me crazy when a coat is an awkward length shorter than the dress underneath. This camel coat is versatile not only because of the length and color, but because the lapels can fold in a number of different styles. It’s super soft and made in Italy but at a much more accessible price point.

Graphic Print:
Winter looks often need a little extra spice to keep things interesting. Colors tend to go dark and neutral, styles get looser and textures get softer. With a graphic print on a slinky dress like this I can pair the look with a cozy sweater or neutral coat without going flat. I also love that this is a skull print that doesn’t look like an eighth grade goth should be wearing it. As skull prints go, it’s elevate-able.

What are your fall wardrobe essentials?
