Happy Valentine’s Day! I don’t support the toxic idea that people need a significant other to be complete and happy. And unfortunately, the commercialization of Valentine’s Day does center on that theory. But I do have a lot of love in my life and I like having an extra special day to celebrate it all on!
I always come back to the Tolstoy quote, “You are asleep until you fall in love.” I interpret this to mean falling in love with not just a romantic partner but with a friend or family member, a cause, a job, or your whole life.
Today I will be celebrating the love I have with my incredible group of family and friends. The love I have with the world’s cutest dog. The love I have for my purpose in life as a writer. The love I have for the grand adventure that I’ve made my life.
