This week I got a little taste of my old life with a virtual scotch tasting hosted by GlenDronach. They sent over two bottles of scotch, an 18-year and a 12-year as well as some cheese and a Scottish meal from The Haven in Jamaica Plain. Then we got on Zoom and one of the GlenDronach representatives walked us through the tasting and gave background about the brand.
Of course I love cheese so that was a highlight, but the smoked haddock fish spread from The Haven (pictured below) was PHENOMENAL. One of my favorite parts of the meal. Fish isn’t something you’d typically think to pair with scotch but they went perfectly together.
I so appreciated that the GlenDronach representatives were continuing to find ways to bring the Boston food and beverage community together even while we’re separated. It was so nice to have dinner with the group and learn about the history behind the scotch. I suppose if the GlenDronach brand can last from 1826 to present day, we can probably get through a few months of social distancing.
