DIY: No-Sew Infinity Scarf

July 19, 2013,
by Celina[zilla_likes]

Remember that old t-shirt I cut up in last week’s DIY post? Instead of throwing away the remnants of the shirt, I decided to make something out of it. This is a super easy way to make a cute infinity scarf out of an old t shirt.

Step One: Choose an old shirt that you don’t want anymore. It can be any size, although the bigger the shirt, the bigger the scarf.

Step Two: Draw a line from one side of the shirt to the other, directly under the armpits. You can use a ruler to measure it out but I generally just eyeball it. You won’t be able to tell once the scarf is finished.

Step Three: Cut along the line with fabric scissors. Be careful, but don’t worry if you aren’t perfectly straight. This won’t show when you’re wearing the scarf.

Step Four: Take the bottom half (which is now a tube) and shape it with your hands into an infinity scarf. Boom, done. Bonus points for finishing off the raw edge but it’s not necessary.

I love wearing light, cotton scarves in the summer and t-shirts are the perfect weight to make them out of.

Do you have another way of making an easy scarf, or ideas on how to style it? Leave them in the comments below!

Use your serger to finish off the edges. It looks really great.
