Beauty and the Beer

Last night I had the pleasure of attending a super fun event hosted by Benefit Cosmetics and Goose Island Beer. It was a combo beer tasting and makeover night to introduce Goose Island’s new “ladies” beers. I don’t know much about beer and I have to admit, they blew me away. Some of their beers sit for an extra year in wine barrels with different fruits and flavors. This extended fermentation gave my favorite beer, the Halia, a champagne-like quality.

While we were tasting the beers the wonderful ladies at Benefit were making us look beautiful with makeup application and consultation. A big shout out to Chantel for dealing with my completely inept makeup questions
(“Concealer, what’s that?”).

I’m very low maintenance when it comes to makeup, i.e. I don’t wear it. Chantel embraced my strategy with a very light, natural look. She put on some light lipstain, smooth foundation, a little tint on the cheeks and some mascara. And thanks to Benefit I now know what all those things means.
