Custom Wardrobe

September 22, 2014,
by Celina[zilla_likes]

I have great difficulty finding clothes that fit me exactly right. At 4’ll and a 00, I end up having to alter most of my outfits by hand. I think we’ve all experienced a little of that in the dressing room, something fits on the hips by not on the waist, or the length isn’t quite right, or the sleeves fall strangely.

I’ll admit, when eShakti reached out to me offering to send me a custom-made dress, I was skeptical. Custom without an in-person fitting? But the results were incredible.

customwardrobeHere’s how it works: you select an item from the eShakti website. Then you can either use a generic size (they offer sizes 0-36W!) or you can enter your measurements for a custom fit. You can also customize certain aspects of the garment, including hem length (mini, maxi midi, etc.), sleeve style, neckline, and pockets. And that’s it. You just fill out the online form and the garment arrives at your door perfectly sized for you.

customwardrobe2I chose a maxi dress because I have the most trouble with them. I always have to hem maxis, and hemming a dress by hand can be a huge time suck. My other big problem spot is my waist. Most clothes aren’t made to fit that small a size, unless you’re shopping in the kids department, which sometimes out of desperation I do. My eShakti dress was both the perfect length and the perfect waist fit – no alterations needed!

customwardrobe3I paired my dress with my favorite new harness for what I called an “Edgy Pioneer” look. Like I always say, can’t go wrong with a little leather!

customwardrobe4Perhaps the best part about eShakti is the price. For custom clothing, they are incredibly reasonable. Most items fall between $60 and $100. But in the “Overstock” section they sometimes have sales for as low as $20. With a variety of styles from retro to contemporary to quirky, you really can’t go wrong.

Please note: I was provided with a complimentary garment by eShakti, but all opinions expressed are my own.
