I get mistaken for staff at bookstores and libraries on the regular. I don’t correct people, but rather use it as an opportunity to spread the word about my favorite authors (“I think what you really need is some Nabokov”). I can’t blame the shoppers, my style sometimes has a very librarian-chic slant to it. Take this look with a plaid top and grey wool skirt. The studs on the shirt and the mini-length keep the look from going mousy, but it doesn’t do much for my status as faux-bookseller.
