My mom and I made this dress from scratch using a vintage ’50s pattern. And by “we” made it, I mean she mostly made it after I got bored and frustrated. It’s a unique pleasure to have a piece of clothing that was made just for you, but even more so when it was made by a loved one. My mom is with me every time I wear the dress. As an added bonus, no one will ever have the same one!
I pair the dress with fishnets typically to add a modern foil to the retro style. The whole garment is made of wool so it’s a go-to winter look to keep me warm and stylish.
