Evening at ArtBar

July 6, 2019,
by Celina[zilla_likes]

Last week I had the pleasure of dining at ArtBar in Cambridge to check out their summer menu. This has long been one of my favorite spots, especially for a date night. Not only does the restaurant and adjoining hotel (Royal Sonesta) have a world class art collection, their patio provides stunning views of the Boston skyline. Talk about ambience!

The menu appeals to a wide range of tastes which is great when you’re dining with a big group or someone whose preferences you’re not sure of. Picky eaters can go with a classic burger while more adventurous eaters can order the tuna tartare. There’s something for everyone. Even when the dishes are classic (like the crab cake pictured below) they’re remixed with unique flavors to keep things interesting.

Chef Mario Vasquez spoiled us with an off-the-menu dinner dish, a kind of remixed poke bowl. It was DELICIOUS and perfect for the hot weather when I’m not in the mood for anything heavy.

Dessert was a whole other ball game. They served us a genius skillet s’mores dish with chocolate and marshmallows melted into a cast iron skillet. Then you dip graham crackers into the gooey goodness. S’mores are my favorite summer dessert but as a city dweller it’s hard to find an opportunity to eat them. This was a perfect way to serve the dish in an urban setting.

Whether you go for a multi-course meal (highly recommended) or drinks and dessert (can’t go wrong), ArtBar offers a dining experience like no other in Boston. Here you don’t have to choose between a satisfying meal, innovative cocktails and dreamy outdoor ambience. It’s a one stop shop.
