Ruffle-ing Feathers

I won’t lie to you, I shop a lot. But usually I make deliberate choices based off what I know I wear and find myself needing to put looks together. It’s only once in a great while when I see something and buy it immediately with no thought. This was one of those times. I saw a photo of this dress on Instagram which mentioned the brand but didn’t include a link. Then I scrolled through hundreds of pages of dresses on the site to find it. I was a woman possessed. And frankly, I regret nothing.

I did make a slight alteration to the original design. I purchased the look from Fashion Nova (available here) and just stitched up the plunging neckline to make it more wearable day-to-day. I went a size up to accommodate this so I’m also hoping to tack the shoulders a bit to make up for the difference in waist length.

I’ve got to say, Fashion Nova has a rep for selling club gear, but there are some GEMS in there. Plus they’re almost always having a sale and shipping is super fast. Like I always say, it’s all in the styling.
