Nantucket Day Trip

August 28, 2019,
by Celina[zilla_likes]

Last week I fled the city for a day trip to Nantucket hosted by Shop Nantucket. It’s a long haul on public transit from Boston to ACK, but who can say no to a day of oysters and shopping on an island?

When you’re coming in to the island on the Hy-Line ferry this is the stunning view you’re treated to. Flying is another option but I love the ferry. There’s something so peaceful about the hour ride from Hyannis to Nantucket. You can sit on deck, glass of wine in hand, enjoying this view as you come in to port.

We kicked things off with a little shopping at local boutiques. Lemon and Line makes nautical inspired, waterproof bracelets. What I love about these bracelets is that they’re extremely durable but still elegant in the detailing and metallic hardware. That way you can look cute at the beach without having to worry about ruining your nice jewelry.

Inkerman sells gender neutral shoes hand painted by local artist Meredith Hanson, which is already super cool. But we also discovered Nantucket Candle Co. here. They’re a new candle company that makes scents inspired by the island. It’s a really heartwarming local business and the candles smell AMAZING.

We took a break for lunch at Straight Wharf Fish Store, a fish market that many locals claim has the best lobster roll on island. They also have a secret row of picnic tables on the water behind the shop. It’s the perfect place to enjoy your takeaway lunch, whether you try the lobster roll or one of their daily specials.

After lunch we got a second shopping wind! My favorite post-lunch spot was Charleston Shoe Company, a brand designed to wear on the tough cobblestones of historic towns. Not only are the shoes comfortable, they’re adorable. And because the founder has tiny feet, they always carry size five which is music to my ears! Stay tuned to see how I style my shoes.

We ended a busy day at Brant Point Grille where they absolutely spoiled us with rosé and a seafood platter. We even had our own section of couches reserved right by the ocean. This was one of my favorite parts of the day, getting to sit in this to-die-for setting having a glass of wine and discussing the events of the outing.

One of the things I love about blogging is that it’s an instant bonder. I’ve been lucky to have a great group of ladies on the trip both times I’ve been to Nantucket. By the time we got to Brant Point we were connecting like old friends.

Please note: I was provided with a complimentary trip to Nantucket and goods and services while there. However, all opinions expressed are my own.
